IMAN President for Middle East tackles takfiri thought

IMAN President for the Middle East, Sheikh Mohamed Hajj Hassan, recently appeared on LBC TV to talk about the role of religious judgment. He criticised the tendency of some young people to blindly follow the takfirist strain of thought advocated by intolerant clerics online, arguing that there is no inherent conflict between technology and Islam, nor a religious duty to stop exercising personal judgment. He also said that women are the equals of men, and not, as some takfirist scholars suggest, creatures that should live at the margins of society.
